Films that have stuck with me and I quote to this day…
Probably my favorite movie of all time. Watched it for the first time during a summer of my baseball-playing childhood. “Peace, love, dope!” James Earl Jones yells at Costner’s character as he chases him out of his apartment. Classic. And if your eyes don’t at least get a little damp when Moonlight Graham can’t go back, or when Kevin “has a catch” with his dead father, I don’t want to know you.
More one liners than you can shake a feather at. “Hiss! You’ve hissed your last hiss! Hm, hm, hm…. Hisssss.” Need I say more?
Terrifying. Still have snapshots in my head that I don’t like to think about. I had to pick a picture that didn’t show the little dead girl because I may have had a nervous breakdown… I guess I could watch it now, after all these years, and it wouldn’t be a big deal, but why take chances? It’s not a movie a own.
I know this is a very trendy pick at the moment, but you can’t deny the awesomicity of this movie. Plus it has Leo and his eyes are just too dreamy to say no to. Am I right, or what? Ladies?
Put aside for a moment that it stars J. Lo (yack) and just revel in its stunning visual originality. The effects may become dated and cheesy eventually, but the concepts and art of it all should stand the test of time.
Drove it, and still driving it, into the ground. Lois: “How would you like me to make your life a living hell?” Ace: “Well, I’m not really ready for a relationship right now, Lois, but thank you for asking.”
More to follow as it comes to me…
